In a landmark move, Assam's Housing and Urban Affairs Department (DoHUA) took a step towards digital transformation, conducting its first fully online review meeting on Wednesday. Chaired by Minister Ashok Singhal, the meeting was a comprehensive review of various departmental verticals including AMRUT, PMAY-U, and AUWSSB via a newly developed Unified Portal.
The digital meeting, held at the Minister's office in Janata Bhawan, Dispur, signifies the state's commitment to leveraging technology in governance. Key attendees included DoHUA Commissioner and Secretary Kavitha Padmanabhan, key senior officials, and the developers who crafted the innovative portal.
Minister Singhal mandated that all vertical heads and portal developers ensure real-time data uploads, while also allowing field officers access to share data and progress reports directly. This transparency is set to reduce paperwork and enhance decision-making processes, reflecting the department's dedication to digital governance.
