Punjab Agriculture Minister Engages with Farmers on Policy Reforms

Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian met with farmer leaders to discuss and consider their suggestions for the agriculture policy. The finalized policy will be based on consultations with relevant departments. Discussions also included the introduction of a One Time Settlement scheme for farmers with loan challenges.

Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian on Wednesday met with farmer leaders to discuss their suggestions for the upcoming agriculture policy. The minister confirmed that their inputs have been acknowledged and will be considered carefully.

Following consultations with the concerned departments, the agriculture policy is set to be finalized shortly, according to Khudian.

The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Bharti Kisan Union (Ugrahan), including prominent leaders like Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Jora Singh Nasrali, and others. In a related development, Khudian directed officials to establish a One Time Settlement scheme for farmers struggling with loan repayments.
