Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has unveiled a commemorative postage stamp in Gandhinagar that marks the completion of 25 years of development for Mundra Port. The stamp, aptly titled "25 Years of Progress - Mundra Port," highlights the transformation of the port from a simple jetty into a crucial commercial shipping hub.

Released by India Post on October 9, coinciding with World Postal Day, the stamp sheet includes 12 stamps produced in collaboration with the Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ). A total of 5,000 sheets with 60,000 stamps have been printed at the Security Printing Press in Hyderabad, and a replica will be prominently displayed at the National Philatelic Museum in New Delhi.

These stamps are now available for purchase through India Post's e-portal. In addition to the stamp, India Post has introduced a special cover and stamp cancellation procedure. Notably, Mundra Port, positioned on the north coast of the Gulf of Kutch, commenced operations as a captive jetty in 1994 following approval from the Gujarat Maritime Board. The port has since evolved significantly through a Public-Private Partnership model, with its Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ) being operational since 2001.
