The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made a significant arrest in a bribery case involving senior officials from the Modern Coach Factory in Raebareli. Three people, including the Chief Depot Material Superintendent and a Ward Officer, were apprehended for soliciting a Rs30,000 bribe from a Mumbai-based company's promoter.

The arrested individuals allegedly demanded the bribe in exchange for approving items provided by the company through an online tender, according to sources within the CBI. The bribe was intended to facilitate the clearing of consignments of safety spectacles, an essential item supplied by the complainant's trading firm based in Prabhadevi, Mumbai.

The CBI orchestrated a sting operation, leading to Rs30,000 being transferred via G-pay to a private individual's account under the directive of the accused. All parties involved were arrested and presented in Raebareli court, with further legal proceedings shifted to the Special CBI Court in Mumbai. The case remains active as incriminating materials have been uncovered during the investigation.
