Torrent Power has announced a significant win, securing a contract from the Maharashtra government to supply a robust 2,000 megawatt energy storage capacity from its future facility in the state.

The energy giant declared it received a new order for an additional 500 MW capacity, building on the 1,500 MW awarded last month, thus totaling a supply order of 2,000 MW.

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) will acquire this energy storage from Torrent Power's intra-state transmission (InSTS) connected pumped hydro storage over a span of 40 years.
