Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, spent time with rickshaw and cart pullers in Dibrugarh on Tuesday. An official statement revealed that Sonowal, the MP from Dibrugarh, shared a meal of Poori Sabji with these workers, fostering community ties during the festival season.

Addressing the gathering, Sonowal emphasized the government's commitment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi to uplift every individual through the Antyodaya philosophy, ensuring equal development and dignity. "Your hard work is the backbone of our local economy," he remarked. Sonowal noted that dining with the workers revived cherished childhood memories for him.

Earlier, Sonowal expressed strong confidence in the BJP's success in the ongoing Assembly elections. Citing promising updates from the Election Commission's website, he highlighted BJP's significant lead in Haryana with 49 seats bagged and the surge of support in Jammu & Kashmir where the party secured 27 seats, amidst intense political contests.
