The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Friday announced an extension of the relaxation granted to listed companies, allowing them to forgo the dispatch of physical copies of financial statements to shareholders during annual general meetings (AGMs) for an additional year, until September 30, 2025.

This decision was prompted by a recent circular issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) on September 19, 2024, which extended the same relaxation. SEBI's move aligns with the MCA directive and addresses representations from stakeholders seeking continued flexibility.

The LODR regulations typically mandate listed companies to send hard copies of key financial documents to shareholders without registered email addresses. However, SEBI clarified that hard copies of the full annual report must be sent to those shareholders who specifically request it.
