Russia has effectively dismantled 80% of critical infrastructure in Pokrovsk, a significant logistics hub in Ukraine's eastern region, according to local officials. They reported that Russian forces are currently stationed approximately 7 kilometers away, reinforcing their strategic positions as they push forward in the area.
The focus of Russian forces on Pokrovsk in recent weeks has led to intense assaults aimed at consolidating territorial gains. 'The enemy is stripping us of power, water, and gas, preparing us for a harsh winter,' commented Serhiy Dobriak, the head of Pokrovsk's military administration, during a television broadcast.
With only 13,050 residents left in the town, ongoing evacuation efforts are crucial as the community once housed over 48,000 people. Recent attacks caused significant damage, leaving nearly half of Pokrovsk and surrounding areas without power, marking extensive destruction of the town's energy infrastructure.
