Maharashtra cabinet minister Sanjay Rathod was involved in a car accident in the early hours of Friday, a government official reported. Remarkably, the minister escaped without injuries after his vehicle met with an accident at approximately 2 am on the Digras-Arni road, near Kopra village.
Rathod, who serves as the state's Minister of Soil and Water Conservation in the Eknath Shinde administration, was on his way from Poharadevi in Washim district to Yavatmal. His office reassured the public, confirming that Rathod was unharmed in the incident.
The politician, a Shiv Sena member representing the Digras-Darwha Assembly Constituency, has been a significant figure in Maharashtra politics. In 2021, he resigned as Forest Minister over alleged links to TikTok star Pooja Chavan's suicide but received a police clean chit in 2022.
