Cabinet Boosts Agriculture with Rs 1 Lakh Crore Schemes

The Union Cabinet has taken a significant step to support agriculture by approving two major schemes, the PM Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and Krishonnati Yojana (KY), with a joint expenditure exceeding Rs 1 lakh crore. This move focuses on promoting sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring food security.
The government confirmed the combined expenditure of Rs 1,01,321.61 crore through a social media post on platform X, highlighting its commitment to agricultural advancement and self-sufficiency in food production.
The Cabinet's approval also signifies the rationalization of all centrally sponsored schemes functioning under the Ministry of Agriculture into these two comprehensive umbrella schemes, enhancing focus and efficiency.
