At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 97.0 points, equating to a 0.23% decrease, landing at 42,099.53. Simultaneously, the S&P 500 recorded an 11.4 point dip, or 0.20%, opening at 5,698.19.
The Nasdaq Composite also saw a decline, with a 65.6 point drop, or 0.37%, ending up at 17,859.486 as tensions in the Middle East kept investors wary of potential geopolitical escalations.
