In Bhopal, a protest by guest teachers demanding regularization turned tense as police registered a case against four named individuals and approximately 250 unidentified participants. The incident occurred when protesters, lacking official permission, marched from Ambedkar Park towards the Chief Minister's House on Wednesday.
Authorities halted their advance at the city's Second stop area using barricades. Despite police advisories to disperse, demonstrators attempted to breach the barriers, leading officers to invoke section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sahita (BNS), which addresses disobedience to public orders.
Additional Commissioner of Police Chandrashekhar Pandey explained to ANI that the gathering lacked protest permits, warranting the legal action. He stressed the police's respect for the teaching profession, noting no force was used during the intervention. Among those charged are top officials from the Guest Teachers' Association.
