In an ambitious move to bolster local economies and craftsmanship, Tripura's Chief Minister, Manik Saha, laid the foundation stone for the state's PM-Ekta Mall. This is part of a broader national initiative led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The project underlines the commitment to the 'One District, One Product' program, aiming to uphold cultural integrity and economic growth. Tripura's mall, estimated at a cost of approximately INR 150 crore, is set to serve as a pivotal hub for local trade and cultural engagement when completed by March 2026.

The initiative, introduced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the latest budget, is backed by a significant INR 5,000 crore allocation. As states nationwide begin to submit their development plans, the program strides forward in reshaping India's economic and cultural landscapes through these Unity Malls.
