Vedanta group firm Hindustan Zinc has announced a noteworthy uplift in its mined metal production for the second quarter of the current fiscal year, marking a 2 percent increase to 2,56,000 tonnes.

This is a slight rise from the 2,52,000 tonnes recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year. Meanwhile, refined metal production saw an upswing, reaching 2,62,000 tonnes compared to 2,41,000 tonnes in the year-ago period.

Specifically, refined zinc production ascended to 1,98,000 tonnes, posting a 7 percent increment, while refined lead production elevated by 12 percent to 63,000 tonnes. Additionally, saleable silver production climbed by 2 percent year-on-year to 5.9 million ounces. Contrastingly, wind power generation for 2QFY25 dipped by 18 percent year-on-year to 129 MU, reflecting the seasonal impact and wind velocity variations.
