State-owned THDCIL has signed a landmark agreement with the Rajasthan government to develop 1,600 MW of pumped storage projects, with an investment of Rs 8,800 crore.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlines the construction of two 800 MW pumped storage projects (PSPs) at Bisanpura in Bundi and Rampura Tonk. The Bisanpura PSP will draw water from the Gudha Dam, while the Rampura PSP will use the Bisalpur reservoir.

THDCIL CMD R K Vishnoi stated that this initiative represents a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions, ensuring reliable water supply and minimal environmental impact. The MoU was signed in the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, who expressed full support for the expedited completion of the projects.
