The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has summoned RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna to appear on October 3 regarding the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam. This follows Krishna's email complaint to the ED implicating Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the matter.
On Monday, Krishna advocated for comprehensive investigations into the alleged Rs 5,000 crore corruption within the Mysuru Urban Development Authority. He highlighted persistent corruption issues since 2015 and requested inquiries by both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the ED.
Krishna criticized Siddaramaiah's government, citing the irregular allotment of MUDA sites as evidence of systemic corruption. He demanded a CBI inquiry and noted that the Lokayukta has also begun an investigation into the matter. The ED had previously registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) against the Karnataka Chief Minister, leading to an offer from Siddaramaiah's wife to surrender 14 MUDA plots allotted to her. The Mysuru Lokayukta is investigating the allotment of these sites following a court order issued on September 27.
