The Ministry of Law and Justice has officially appointed Shashi Bhushan Prasad Singh and Ashok Kumar Pandey as Judges of the Patna High Court. The announcement was made through an official notification on Tuesday.

According to the notification, the President of India, after consulting with the Chief Justice of India, exercised his powers under the Constitution to appoint these judicial officers to their new roles.

The appointments were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on September 24, 2024. Chief Justice Dr. DY Chandrachud, along with Justices Sanjiv Khanna and BR Gavai, endorsed the appointments. The Collegium emphasized that the seniority of the appointees will be determined according to existing practices, reinforcing its commitment to maintaining judicial integrity and efficiency.
