Vadodara, Gujarat – Sudeep Pharma Private Limited (Sudeep Pharma) has announced its entry into the Clean Energy Storage sector with the launch of its subsidiary, Sudeep Advanced Materials (SAM). The initiative will concentrate on producing Iron Phosphate for electric vehicle (EV) batteries, leveraging the company's extensive experience in green chemistry from its pharmaceutical and food industries background.

Having started the production of Iron Phosphate in 2015, Sudeep Pharma has grown to become a leading global producer of food-grade Iron Phosphate. The company boasts a production capacity of 15,000 metric tonnes and has developed environmentally friendly processes to reduce water and gas emissions. SAM will apply these sustainable methods to manufacture Green Iron Phosphate for EV battery systems.

The company has also set up a Customer Qualification Plant (CQP) to validate the performance of its products with potential clients, paving the way for commercial production. A new 30-acre Commercialization Hub will produce 100,000 metric tonnes annually of precursor cathode active materials (pCAMs) including Iron Phosphate and Manganese Derivatives, starting with phase one in 2026.

SAM's operations will benefit from Sudeep Pharma's three decades of raw material sourcing expertise, particularly in procuring Phosphoric Acid, ensuring reliable supply chains for its manufacturing needs.

Julian Dunn, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, remarked, “The launch of SAM represents a strategic move into the Global battery Market, building on our strong foundation in phosphate manufacturing.” Director Shanil Bhayani added, “Our commitment to sustainability and societal impact has been a cornerstone of our work in the nutrition and food sectors. With SAM, we aim to drive forward innovative, sustainable solutions for battery technologies.”
