AAP leaders erupted in criticism against the BJP after the detention of Sonam Wangchuk and several other protesters. Former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia took to platform X to decry what he claims is an act against a national icon.
'BJP has detained Sonam Wangchuk and others. We all know how Wangchuk has brought pride to the nation. He had just gone with other eminent people to the Delhi border to voice their demands amid the dire conditions in Ladakh since it was turned into a Union Territory,' Sisodia stated.
Delhi CM Atishi joined the condemnation, especially alarmed by being prevented from meeting Wangchuk at Bawana police station. 'People of Ladakh want statehood. This is BJP dictatorship. We fully support Sonam Wangchuk,' said Atishi, alleging Delhi's LG had a hand in barring the meeting.
