Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, announced on Tuesday that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the Tirupati Laddu prasadam case will be suspended until October 3, pending the ongoing Supreme Court hearing. The suspension seeks to maintain the integrity of the investigation in this sensitive matter.

Rao clarified that the investigative process would resume post the Supreme Court's directives on October 3. The formation of the SIT was driven by the severity of the case, and the temporary halt aims to preclude any potential legal entanglements.

Guided by the Supreme Court's instructions, the SIT's investigation aims for a fair and impartial inquiry. During Monday's hearing, the court questioned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's public allegations about adulterated ghee being used for the temple prasadam, stating there is no conclusive evidence yet. The court's bench also called for input from the Solicitor General on whether an independent investigation is warranted, with a follow-up scheduled for October 3.
