The data, derived from the European gas transmission group Entsog and Gazprom's daily reports on gas transit via Ukraine, confirmed that average daily pipeline exports rose to 90.2 million cubic metres (mcm) last month, up from 89.6 mcm in August and slightly below the 90.6 mcm recorded in September 2023. Gazprom's total natural gas supplies to the European Union amounted to approximately 2.71 billion cubic metres (bcm) in September. Of this, 1.44 bcm, or 48.7 mcm per day, was transported via Turkey.

Gas transit through Ukraine reached 1.27 bcm last month, averaging 42.2 mcm per day. Gazprom's natural gas exports to Europe in 2023 have totaled about 23.8 bcm so far, marking a 17% increase from the previous year. The company has not provided its own monthly statistics since early 2023 and did not respond to requests for comment. In 2022, Russia supplied nearly 63.8 bcm of gas to Europe through various routes, but this volume fell to 28.3 bcm last year, a 55.6% decline. At their peak in 2018-2019, annual flows to Europe ranged between 175 bcm and 180 bcm.
