Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi took part in the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' program on Tuesday, personally cleaning the Gandhi Mandapam area and the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Ravi highlighted Mahatma Gandhi's belief that cleanliness is akin to godliness and urged citizens to develop better habits regarding public cleanliness.
Ravi emphasized that the lack of cleanliness leads to health issues, particularly affecting the poor. He announced that universities have been advised to conduct monthly cleanliness drives on their campuses to instill better habits among the youth.
Ravi appealed to the public to refrain from littering, noting that while the situation has improved, more work remains to be done. Earlier, Union Minister Prataprao Jadhav participated in the same campaign, reinforcing the government's commitment to cleanliness and the Swachh Bharat Mission.
