A massive fire erupted at an oil and chemical factory near the Muradnagar Canal bridge on Delhi-Meerut Road at midnight on Monday, sending 12 fire tenders rushing to the scene. The blaze broke out in an industrial unit covering approximately 2000 square metres on plot 87-A in Pawanpuri Industrial Area.
Explosions from drums of stored edible oil and chemicals caused tin shed roofs and boundary walls to collapse, extending the fire to an adjacent cardboard factory on plot 87-B. Firefighters quickly began dousing the flames by laying hose pipes from the main gate.
Rahul Kumar, Chief Fire Officer and Police Commissioner of Ghaziabad, dispatched additional fire tenders from various locations, including three from Kotwali and others from Sahibabad, Vaishali, Loni, Partapur (Meerut), and Sector 58 (Gautam Buddha Nagar). He personally arrived at the scene to oversee the rescue operations. Although the fire's cause remains unknown, no casualties have been reported.
Throughout the operation, the Fire and Emergency Services Department was supported by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Modinagar, and the local police team. Cooling efforts are ongoing with the help of 12 firefighters.
