In a significant breakthrough, the Madhya Pradesh police from Dindori district have rescued six tribal minor girls who were forced into domestic work in New Delhi, officials revealed on Monday. The girls faced hurdles while attempting to return home.
The incident came to light after a family member of one of the girls lodged a missing person's complaint. Following the investigation, the police uncovered the whereabouts of not just the one but an additional five minors.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Jagannath Singh Markarm, confirmed that the case was registered under section 137 (2) of Bharatiya Nyay Sahita. With the assistance of NGO Jan Sahas and the cyber cell, a team was dispatched to Delhi, successfully locating and rescuing the girls. They have been safely returned to their respective families.
