NHPC to Invest Rs 50,000 Crore in Rajasthan's Green Energy Projects
State-owned NHPC has signed an initial agreement to invest Rs 50,000 crore in developing renewable energy projects in Rajasthan. The projects will include pumped storage, solar, floating solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems. The 300 MW Solar PV Project in Bikaner is scheduled for completion by March 31, 2025.

State-owned hydro power giant NHPC has entered into an initial agreement to invest Rs 50,000 crore to develop renewable energy projects in Rajasthan. The significant investment aims to bolster the state's capability in green energy.
According to a BSE filing, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the government of Rajasthan on September 30, 2024. The projects will encompass a range of energy solutions including pumped storage projects, solar, floating solar, wind projects, and battery energy storage systems.
In a separate announcement, NHPC confirmed that the revised commissioning date for the 300 MW Solar PV Project in Bikaner, Rajasthan is March 31, 2025, signifying continued progress in its renewable energy commitments.
