The Delhi Police have arrested two men along with a minor from Nagaland on charges of smuggling illicit Ganja from Shillong to the national capital via airways and postal services. The suspects, identified as Ato Sumi, aged 30, and R. Kechyelo Seb, 22, were apprehended with a considerable haul of illegal substances.

As per police reports, operatives confiscated 4.590 kg of illegal Ganja from the suspects' residence and intercepted two parcels weighing 12 kg at the post office, said to be intended for the accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police, South West, Rohit Meena, revealed that actionable intelligence was received on September 19 about the sale of Ganja in Humayunpur Village, New Delhi.

Upon acting swiftly, a Special Staff team headed by SI Ashok Kumar Meena conducted a raid at the specified location, seizing the illicit drugs and apprehending the individuals involved. Subsequent interrogation revealed that the Ganja was sourced from Shillong, Meghalaya, via postal parcels sent by an unknown supplier referred to as Kawi.

The investigation also unearthed that suspect Ato Sumi had received payments for the illicit transaction in his bank accounts, which have since been frozen, amounting to Rs. 37,45,502. To further trace the roots and network of the operation, the accused have been placed under a 10-day police remand, while the minor has been sent to judicial custody.

Authorities confirmed that efforts are ongoing to track down the source and other recipients involved in the illicit Ganja trade.
