Gwalior is poised to welcome a 100 TPD (Tonnes per day) cattle dung-based Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant, set for a virtual inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 2. Located within Gwalior's largest cowshed, Adarsh Gaushala in Laltipara, this project promises to be a landmark in green energy.

Constructed at a cost of Rs 33 crores by Indian Oil Corporation, the plant will daily generate two tons of biogas from 100 tons of cattle dung. Gwalior Municipal Corporation Commissioner Aman Vaishnav remarked that the plant marks the first of its kind in Madhya Pradesh, converting both cattle dung and organic waste into biogas.

The produced biogas will fuel municipal garbage vehicles powered by CNG, significantly cutting down fuel expenses. With an operational capacity yielding two tons of gas per day, the plant spreads across a four-acre land. The project stands as a testament to Swachh Bharat mission, emphasized by Adarsh Gaushala's Mahant Rishabh Devanand Maharaj, highlighting the importance of utilizing livestock and organic waste. The collaboration between Indian Oil Corporation and Gwalior Municipal Corporation ensures sustainability.
