Sebi Penalizes NSE Data And Analytics for Regulatory Lapses

Sebi has fined NSE Data And Analytics Ltd Rs 12 lakh for failing to segregate IT infrastructures and manpower from its parent firm, National Stock Exchange (NSE). The inspection revealed irregularities in record backups, business continuity plans, and KYC record validation, among other issues.

Sebi has imposed a hefty fine of Rs 12 lakh on NSE Data And Analytics Ltd, citing failures in segregating IT infrastructures and manpower between itself and its parent company, National Stock Exchange (NSE).

The regulatory body's inspection, which covered the period from April 2022 to July 2023, unveiled multiple lapses including irregularities in backup records, business continuity plans, delays in investor communication, and issues with cybersecurity and system audit reports.

Despite corrective actions claimed by NSE Data And Analytics, SEBI confirmed that various regulatory breaches were identified. The entity has been directed to pay the penalty within 45 days.
