NATO Encouraged to Maintain Military Aid Despite Russian Nuclear Threats
Jens Stoltenberg, the outgoing NATO chief, urges NATO members to not be deterred by Vladimir Putin's nuclear threats and to continue military aid to Ukraine. Stoltenberg stressed that previous deterrence attempts by Russia have failed and allies should support Ukraine's efforts against Russian aggression.
Jens Stoltenberg, the outgoing head of NATO, has urged member nations to disregard Vladimir Putin's nuclear threats and continue their support for Ukraine. In a recent interview with Reuters, Stoltenberg criticized Putin's recent warning that Russia could use nuclear weapons if struck by conventional missiles.
The NATO chief emphasized that Moscow's threats fit a pattern of reckless rhetoric aimed at deterring Western support for Ukraine. Stoltenberg highlighted that despite previous threats, NATO allies had continually stepped up their aid to Ukraine with new weapon systems.
Stoltenberg, who is about to hand over leadership to Mark Rutte, stated that Russia's attempts to intimidate NATO had not succeeded. He affirmed that the latest example should not prevent NATO from providing further assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
