In a coordinated series of operations across hill and valley regions, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, Manipur Police, and other security forces have successfully recovered 23 weapons, 52.5 kg of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), ammunition, and warlike stores throughout various districts in Manipur last week. These successful recoveries underline the effective synergy among the security forces operating in the state.

On September 25 and 27, 2024, a joint intelligence operation by the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police near Tekcham Maning and Phainom Village Pine Forest Plantation in Thoubal District led to the confiscation of multiple firearms, ammunition, and an IED. The timely detection and neutralization of a 10 kg IED along State Highway 18 in Saram prevented a major tragedy.

Further operations in Kangpokpi District on September 27 and 28 resulted in the recovery of various firearms and explosive devices, reinforcing the ongoing efforts by the Assam Rifles and Manipur Police. In Churachandpur and Imphal East districts, multiple IEDs and country-made mortars were diffused and seized, ensuring the safety of local residents.

In Bishnupur District, a coordinated operation by the Indian Army, Manipur Police, and CRPF led to the recovery of additional weapons and explosives. These operations demonstrate the unwavering dedication of security forces to restore peace and normalcy in Manipur. (ANI)
