Four foreign nationals, who had been living illegally in India, were detained by Bengaluru police from the Jigani area in rural Bengaluru. Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara revealed that the individuals had resided in India for the past decade and moved to Bengaluru a year ago.
The State Home Minister raised concerns about the intelligence agency's failure to detect their presence. He also noted that the detainees possessed counterfeit Indian passports. 'Based on the information I received, they have been in India for the last ten years and came to Bengaluru a year ago. The intelligence agency's oversight is baffling, and the creation of fake passports will be thoroughly investigated,' Parameshwara stated.
Police have launched an investigation to determine the motives behind their stay. Bengaluru Rural SP CK Baba confirmed that a case has been registered and the inquiry is in progress. 'A case has been registered, and investigations are ongoing. They have fake Indian passports, and we are verifying all the details,' Baba said. (ANI)
