The Delhi Police's Special Cell has apprehended two sharpshooters affiliated with the Jitender-Gogi gang, a day after an extortion attempt at a sweets shop in Nangloi. The incident involved gunfire and extortion slips. Authorities confiscated a semi-automatic pistol, a country-made pistol, and a motorcycle used in the crime.

The suspects, identified as Hari Om, 27, and Jatin, 21, were taken into custody after an investigation utilizing CCTV footage and manual intelligence. Hari Om resides in Rohini Sector 20, while Jatin hails from VPO Mundka. On Saturday, the duo fired shots and threw extortion slips at the sweets shop, featuring images and names of notorious gangsters.

Police revealed that Jatin is connected to incarcerated gangster Ankesh Lakra and is an aide to Deepak, alias Boxer. Jatin received orders from Ankesh and Vishal, the younger brother of another gangster currently abroad, to execute the crime. The illegal weapons were reportedly supplied through gang contacts.

The police have filed an FIR under sections 109(1)/3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sections 25/27 of the Arms Act at Nangloi Police Station. The investigation continues. (ANI)
