Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a public rally, launched a vehement criticism against the Congress and its allies, accusing them of trying to divide the country through their policies. Sarma, campaigning for the BJP ahead of the Haryana elections, lauded the people of Haryana for their significant contributions to national security, particularly in safeguarding India's borders, while taking aim at Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and the Gandhi family.
"I come from Assam, and our state is within India's borders, but the defense of the Indian frontier is shouldered by Haryana. Haryana continually sacrifices to protect the nation," Sarma stated. He emphasized the importance of the forthcoming elections, deeming it "the election of the golden path." Expressing gratitude, Sarma thanked the Haryana populace for their substantial support for the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections, despite the party's loss in Sonipat. "Though we lost, you voted for the BJP with a vast margin and blessed Modi ji," he said. Sarma proceeded to criticize Congress leaders for attempting to undermine Prime Minister Narendra Modi by spreading misinformation.
"Our Congress leaders tried to defeat Modi ji by disseminating lies, suggesting that the Constitution would be altered or farmers would lose their rights if Modi ji won. But the people of India refused to believe these fabrications, and once again, Prime Minister Modi was victorious," Sarma added. Sarma particularly targeted Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi: "Sonia and Rahul, this mother-son duo, dreamed of forming a government, but those dreams were shattered again. Just as their attempt failed in the Lok Sabha elections, I believe it will fail in Haryana too—their venture will flop."
The Assam CM further criticized Sonia Gandhi for using different names domestically and abroad, mocking, "Congress has two names for Sonia ji. In India, she is Sonia Gandhi, but in Italy, she becomes Antonio Maino. Similarly, their candidate Surendra Pawar also has two names." He implored the public, "Don't let candidates with two names win. If they triumph, they will transform the area into a mini Bangladesh, a mini Pakistan." Sarma also commented on the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, likening it to the situation in Kashmir. "Currently, Israel and Palestine are at war. The Israeli army killed Hezbollah commander Hasan Nasrullah. That's their country's affair. But in Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti says she won't campaign because she is saddened by his death. I want to ask Mehbooba, Farooq Abdullah, and Rahul Gandhi: When terrorists kill Hindu soldiers, do you feel sad or not?"
Sarma also condemned Rahul Gandhi's stance on constitutional matters. "During the Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi held the Constitution high and vowed to protect it. But recently, he went to America and suggested that one day, reservations for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes would end. I want to inform Rahul that these reservations were granted by Baba Saheb, and even if you are born ten times over, you won't be able to repeal them." Haryana will vote on October 5 to elect a 90-member state legislature, with the counting scheduled for October 8. (ANI)
