Justice Manmohan Sworn in as Chief Justice of Delhi High Court

On Sunday, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena administered the oath of office to Justice Manmohan, inaugurating him as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. The ceremony, held at Raj Niwas, saw the attendance of Chief Minister Atishi along with other high-profile dignitaries.

Several Judges of the Delhi High Court, including Justices Dinesh Kumar Sharma, Amit Sharma, Prathiba M Singh, Yaswant Varma, Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora, Jasmeet Singh, Prateek Jalan, Rekha Palli, Anish Dayal, and Tushar Rao Gedela, graced the occasion. Justice Manmohan was first recommended for the position on July 11, 2024, by the Supreme Court Collegium. His appointment was later confirmed by the Centre on September 21, 2024.

Justice Manmohan began his judicial career on March 13, 2008, when he was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court, becoming Permanent Judge on December 17, 2009. Born on December 17, 1962, in Delhi, Justice Manmohan is an alumnus of Modern School, Hindu College, and the Campus Law Centre, University of Delhi. His extensive legal practice in the Supreme Court of India and Delhi High Court culminated in his elevation to Chief Justice. Apart from his legal acumen, he has been active in extra-judicial activities, addressing numerous seminars and conferences of national and international importance.
