Thousands of members of the Gond Gowari community gathered in Nagpur on Friday, demanding the cancellation of a 1985 government resolution (GR) they claim contains incorrect information affecting their quota benefits.

The protesters, under the banner of Adivasi Gond Gowari Jamat Sanvaidhanik Haq Sangharsh Kruti Samiti, argued that the April 24, 1985 resolution was fundamentally flawed, creating significant issues for the community.

'Members from across Maharashtra participated in the morcha from Yeshwant Stadium to Ganesh Tekdi. Earlier protests led to government promises for a report within six months, which has since been extended by two months,' said working convener Gajanan Kohale. 'We demand the cancellation of the unconstitutional GR, but the state's seriousness on this matter is questionable,' he added.
