The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday executed searches at seven locations in Jammu and Kashmir tied to the devastating Reasi bus attack, which resulted in the deaths of nine pilgrims. The raids, still ongoing, target hybrid terrorists and Over-Ground Workers (OGWs) in Rajouri and Reasi districts.

Previously, on June 30, the NIA conducted similar searches at multiple locations in Rajouri in connection with the same case. The attack on June 9 involved terrorists firing at a bus transporting pilgrims from Shiv Khori to Katra in the Pouni area of Reasi, causing it to fall into a gorge and kill nine people, including a child. The NIA had taken over the investigation on June 15, acting on directives from the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Ongoing investigations have revealed that the arrested suspect, Hakam Khan, alias Hakin din, facilitated safe shelter, logistics, and food for the terrorists. The previous raids resulted in the seizure of several items confirming the link between terrorists and OGWs. The Jammu and Kashmir police initially reported that at least two terrorists were involved in the attack. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
