Two adults between the ages of 20 and 22 were arrested, and two minors were detained for allegedly raping a 16-year-old college student in Pune, the Pune Police have revealed. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Smarthna Patil, all the accused had separately met the victim on social media and had sexual encounters with her at various locations from April to September.

The suspects face charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and provisions of the Information Technology Act. The incident came to light during a sexual offences awareness session at the victim's college, where a concerned peer disclosed the situation to counsellors.

Police investigations revealed that the victim was not acquainted with her attackers, who had also allegedly recorded videos of the assaults. Authorities have registered a case against the four suspects, including the minors, as the investigation continues.
