Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Engages in High-Level Discussions on Finance, Urban Governance, and Assam Accord

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led a crucial meeting with the 16th Finance Commission of India and Assam's government officials in Guwahati on Thursday. The Finance Department presented a comprehensive report addressing various departmental issues, while Commission members provided valuable insights on key topics.
On Wednesday, CM Sarma welcomed a delegation of corporators from Telangana's Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation at Lok Sewa Bhawan in Guwahati. The corporators, on a study tour, discussed urban governance and civic issues. Sarma shared Guwahati's strategies on managing legacy waste and improving civic amenities, which the visiting delegation found insightful.
Additionally, CM Sarma extended his goodwill to the 60 corporators representing BJP, Congress, and BRS, and conveyed his best wishes to the people of Telangana. On the same day, Sarma chaired a meeting with the All Assam Students Union to discuss implementing the Justice (Retd) Biplab Sarma Committee's recommendations on Clause 6 of the Assam Accord, focusing on protecting Assamese cultural identity.
