Hostel Warden Arrested for Beating Student at Private School in Jabalpur

A hostel warden of a private school in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur was arrested for allegedly beating a student, police confirmed on Thursday. The beating took place at the school's hostel in Pipariya Kala.
The incident was revealed when the student informed his parents on Tuesday night, September 24. The next day, the parents filed a police complaint. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Suryakant Sharma stated that a class-8 student reported the beating to his parents, leading them to lodge a complaint on Wednesday.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police visited the school and interrogated the hostel warden, Mukesh Sharma. They discovered scars on the student's body during the investigation, prompting a medical examination. Authorities have registered a case under sections 115, 296, and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023, against the warden.
"Based on the complaint and the investigation, a case has been registered against the hostel warden, who is now in custody. Further investigation is ongoing," ASP Sharma added.
