Union Minister Chirag Paswan has responded to Mandi Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut's recent comments on farm laws, labeling her as 'new to politics' and underscoring the need to prioritize party positions over personal opinions. 'I am not upset with Kangana, but she isn't just an artist now but also a member of a political party,' Paswan remarked. 'When you are part of a political party, it becomes your responsibility to put forward the topics of that party. She is new to politics and is taking time to understand things, but she is intelligent and will understand these things soon,' he added during a press interaction on Thursday.

Earlier, Ranaut had suggested that the recently repealed three farm laws should be reinstated, prompting backlash. On Wednesday, she issued a public apology and expressed regret for her statement. 'I know this statement could be controversial, but the three farm laws should be brought back. Farmers themselves should demand it,' she had stated. Following the BJP's clarification that her comments were 'not authorized,' Ranaut retracted her remarks and promised to align her views with the party's stance.

In a self-made video posted on X, Ranaut said, 'When farmer's laws were proposed, a lot of people supported them, but our Prime Minister retracted those laws with great sensitivity. It is my responsibility, as a BJP worker, to respect his words. If I have hurt anyone's sentiments with my thoughts, I regret it and take my words back.' BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia also reaffirmed that Ranaut's statements do not represent the party's views. 'Kangana Ranaut is not authorized to speak on behalf of the BJP regarding the farm bills,' he stated, distancing the party from her comments.
