Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) announced on Thursday the completion of a significant 50:50 joint venture (JV) with TotalEnergies, as per an exchange filing.

TotalEnergies has committed an investment of USD 444 million in a subsidiary to secure a 50 per cent stake in AGEL's solar projects located at the world's largest renewable energy plant in Khavda, Gujarat, the filing detailed.

AGEL confirmed, ''We would like to inform that the company has signed a Joint Venture Agreement with TotalEnergies Renewables Singapore Pte Ltd (TotalEnergies) and Adani Renewable Energy Sixty Four Ltd (ARE64L).'' Both AGEL and TotalEnergies hold equal 50:50 stakes in ARE64L, encompassing a 1,150 MWac (megawatt alternate current) project portfolio.
