Vinay Mishra Nominated as Vice Chairman of Delhi Jal Board
Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel has nominated AAP MLA Vinay Mishra as Vice Chairman of Delhi Jal Board. Mishra, an MLA from Dwarka constituency, holds an MBA from IIPM. LG VK Saxena has initiated a dust-free Delhi campaign, urging immediate action to keep roads and drains clean.

In an official move, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel has appointed Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Vinay Mishra as the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board. Additionally, AAP MLAs Ajay Dutt and Preeti Jitender Tomar have been nominated as board members.
Vinay Mishra, the incumbent MLA representing Dwarka, secured his position in the 2020 Legislative Assembly elections with a significant vote tally of 71,003. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM), Mishra holds a Master of Business Administration degree. In parallel news, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's office has urged the Chief Secretary to expedite the submission of pending CAG reports as the Assembly readies for a session on September 26 and 27. The LG also requested the Chief Secretary to notify the Chief Minister about the urgency of the matter.
In a separate directive, LG VK Saxena instructed Delhi agencies including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Public Works Department (PWD), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), and Delhi Jal Board (DJB) to undertake a comprehensive dust-free campaign. The initiative, spanning one to two weeks, aims to be extended into a year-long endeavor. Saxena emphasized on road cleaning, effective disposal of silt, and coordinated efforts among agencies to avoid drain blockages. Teams will document their progress through 'before and after' visuals, with regular updates reviewed by the LG Secretariat.
