Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena's secretariat has issued a directive to the Chief Secretary, urging him to ensure all pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports are presented during the coming Assembly session on September 26-27.

The secretariat emphasized that the Chief Secretary should also inform the Chief Minister about the reports' pendency and seek prompt action. Additionally, the Principal Secretary (Finance) has been tasked with ensuring the 'Performance Audit Report of the CAG on Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Health Services' is included.

The letter from the LG's office underscored the constitutional and statutory requirements for laying all CAG reports in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. It noted that 12 CAG reports, including audits on state finances, public health infrastructure, vehicular air pollution, and more, have been pending since 2021.

The LG Secretariat received communications from the CAG urging the timely presentation of these reports. Despite repeated reminders to the Finance Department, GNCTD, the Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha, and the Chief Minister, the necessary proposals have not yet been submitted to the LG, who is constitutionally responsible for laying them in the Assembly.
