Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to Attend AIIB Annual Meeting in Uzbekistan
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will attend the 9th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Samarkand. She will also hold bilateral meetings, sign a Bilateral Investment Treaty with Uzbekistan, and engage in various official and business activities.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to attend the 9th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The event, scheduled for September 25 and 26, will see participation from delegations of around 80 countries and other international organizations.
During her visit from September 24 to 28, Sitharaman will hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from Uzbekistan, Qatar, and China, and the AIIB President. She is also expected to sign a Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) with Uzbekistan, aimed at fostering long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.
Sitharaman will participate in the India-Uzbekistan Business Forum and visit the Samarkand State University and Lal Bahadur Shastri Monument in Tashkent. She will also interact with the Indian diaspora in Uzbekistan, representing multiple sectors.
