The 57th Magistrate Court in Bengaluru, on Monday, postponed the hearing for the bail petition of actor Darshan Thoogudeepa to September 27. The bail petition for his friend and co-accused, Pavithra Gowda, is adjourned to September 25 in the Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan filed his bail application on September 21.

The Sessions Court recently granted bail to two other accused, Nikhil Naik and Karthik. Earlier today, the High Court also granted bail to another accused, Keshava Murthy. This month, Bengaluru police submitted a charge sheet to the court against 17 accused, including Darshan Thoogudeepa and Pavithra Gowda, in the Renukaswamy murder case.

According to Bengaluru Commissioner of Police B Dayananda, the charge sheet consists of 3,991 pages, divided into seven volumes and 10 files. The police stated it was meticulously prepared following a thorough investigation.

Previously, actor Darshan was relocated to Bellary Jail after a viral photo showed him with three others, including a rowdy-sheeter, in the lawns of Parappana Agrahara Central Jail. Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda commented on the issue, stating that any special privileges given to Darshan were inappropriate and that responsible officers should be held accountable.

The Karnataka government had suspended seven prison officials after the controversial photo surfaced. The case involves Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old native of Chitradurga, whose body was discovered in Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, on June 9.
