A man was arrested early Monday morning for the murder of a minor boy in Uttar Pradesh. The incident was reported on Sunday night by a Sanquelim resident. The accused, identified as Chandu Patil (30) from Maharashtra, allegedly killed the victim by striking his head with a blunt object, resulting in fatal head injuries.

Forensic teams and a dog squad were immediately sent to the scene. The boy's body was moved to the Goa Municipal Corporation Morgue, and two investigative teams were set up by Bicholim Police to examine the case.

Chandu Patil was apprehended at Kalyan Railway Station within six hours of the crime and subsequently brought back to Bicholim Police Station. In another case, police registered an offence on April 13 following the murder of a five-year-old girl in Vasco, South Goa. SP South Goa, Sunita Sawant, reported the girl was sexually assaulted before being strangled to death. Police have detained 15-20 laborers working in the area as part of the investigation.
