On Monday, BJP leaders in West Bengal led a protest outside the DC north office, calling for justice in the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder incident. The leaders criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government for not allowing BJP to hold peaceful protests.

"They let other parties do programs, but not BJP? We were ready for a peaceful demonstration. Can they stop the atrocities against women in West Bengal?" BJP leader Locket Chatterjee questioned during the protest. Earlier, the BJP conducted torch marches across West Bengal to highlight the "systematic failure" in handling the tragic death of a 33-year-old trainee doctor.

The BJP held torch rallies across various districts, calling for Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's resignation and accusing the state's administration of covering up the incident. Sukanto Majumdar, leading the protest in Jagatballavpur, told ANI, "The BJP has been protesting against how the RG Kar hospital incident is being suppressed. A doctor recently revealed she was threatened with death if she didn't perform the postmortem. Such actions indicate systemic involvement, including the police."

Majumdar continued to emphasize the BJP's call for justice, stating, "This is a systemic failure. We have consistently demanded Mamata Banerjee's resignation, which is why we are protesting in every district." Meanwhile, Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College, was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation's Anti-Corruption Branch on September 2 for alleged corruption and financial irregularities. His arrest follows an investigation ordered by the Calcutta High Court.

The case centers on the body of a female trainee doctor, found on August 9 in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
