The Rewa ultra mega solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district has been recognized as an exemplary model of management by Harvard University, announced Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.
The Chief Minister emphasized that under PM Narendra Modi's leadership, Madhya Pradesh is swiftly becoming a solar energy powerhouse. The Rewa plant, now functional, is noted for its management excellence by Harvard, and another major floating solar project is being developed on the Narmada River in Omkareshwar.
The Rewa plant boasts the lowest commercial energy production rate globally, producing electricity at Rs 3.30 per unit for 25 years. The supply to Delhi Metro Railway commenced in April 2019, with full commercial operation starting in January 2020. An official highlighted Madhya Pradesh's solar energy potential with more than 300 sunny days annually and noted that the Rewa project was India's first World Bank-funded solar initiative. The Harvard case study praises India's potential due to its extensive barren land suitable for solar projects.
