Government Forms High-Level Committee for Fisheries Sector Development
The government has decided to establish a high-level committee to create a roadmap for further development of the fisheries sector. The decision was made during a meeting between Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Fisheries Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh. The committee will include senior officials and will focus on boosting the income of small farmers.

The government has announced the formation of a high-level committee to outline a roadmap for advancing the fisheries sector.
This decision was reached during a meeting between Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Minister of Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh at Krishi Bhavan.
According to an official statement, the committee will consist of senior officials from the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, and ICAR. Agriculture Minister Chouhan emphasized the need for 'model farms' to boost small farmers' income, mobilizing state governments and stakeholders for effective implementation.
