The National Students' Union of India (NSUI) held a press conference on Saturday to launch its manifesto for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) elections and introduce its panel of candidates. Former NSUI National President Amrita Dhawan presented the candidates to the media.

The panel features Ronak Khatri for president, Yash Nandal for vice president, Namrata Jeph Meena for secretary, and Lokesh Choudhary for joint secretary. NSUI National President Varun Choudhary highlighted the manifesto's key points, noting, 'Our manifesto comprehensively addresses all aspects of student welfare. It includes provisions for holistic student development, their rights, and campus infrastructure. NSUI is committed to fulfilling every promise we've made.'

Choudhary expressed confidence in the candidates and the impending elections, saying, 'We believe NSUI will achieve a 4-0 victory. Each candidate has relentlessly fought for student rights and is deeply connected with the student community's issues. Their dedication will resonate with the electorate.' The manifesto prioritizes a student-first approach, improving campus facilities, ensuring fair opportunities, transparent examinations, and amplifying student voices in decision-making processes.

NSUI calls on all Delhi University students to support candidates dedicated to enhancing their university experience. In the 2023 elections, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) won three of the four central panel seats, including president, with Tushar Dedha elected president and NSUI's Abhi Dahiya elected vice-president.

With elections approaching, NSUI remains confident in its candidates' ability to transform Delhi University. The Plan of Action for Students' Welfare highlights steps to improve the student experience and ensure transparent, inclusive leadership. The Students' Federation of India (SFI) and All India Students' Association (AISA), contesting DUSU elections jointly for the first time, announced their candidates on Thursday. The final list of candidates was published on September 13, with polls set for September 27. (ANI)
